How to Prepare Upma:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, and curry leaves.
- Once the mustard seeds start spluttering and the dals turn golden brown, add chopped onions, green chilies, and vegetables of your choice.
- SautΓ© until the vegetables are tender.
- Add water in a ratio of 1:2 (1 part vermicelli to 2 parts water) and bring it to a boil.
- Add salt to taste and slowly add the Periyar Roasted Vermicelli while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the vermicelli is soft and cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
How to Prepare Payasam:
- Boil milk in a saucepan and add Periyar Roasted Vermicelli.
- Let it simmer until the vermicelli is cooked and the milk thickens slightly.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and any other desired flavorings like saffron or rose water.
- Stir well until the sugar is dissolved and the flavors are infused.
- Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm or chilled.
